Obituary

Ethel Ella Lauth, age 93 years, of Portage, died on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Divine Savior Healthcare in Portage. She was born on July 6, 1917 in Montello to Herman and Ella (Gritzmacher) Klawitter. Ethel was raised by her grandmother to age of six, when her father remarried and moved to Town of Trenton, Dodge County where she was educated, confirmed and was united in marriage to Clarence Lauth, who preceded her in death in 1983. Ethel lived in Fort Winnebago where she was a homemaker, farmed with her husband for 40 years in Fort Winnebago Township, had worked at the A & W and AMPI. Ethel enjoyed traveling, gardening, flowers, crocheting, embroidery, enjoyed her grandkids and playing euchre. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, The Railroad Women's Club, UTU Lodge 200, and The Women's Guild. Ethel loved her church, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include Son - John (Annetta) Lauth of Portage; Daughter - Nola (Jim) Tennyson of Montello; 8 Grandchildren - Christine Pulver, Dean (Catherine) Schommer, Lucia (Steve) Fredrick, Jeffrey (Lynn) Lauth, Bruce (Lori) Lauth, Tammie (Brett) Schehr, Kurt (Jeanne) Lauth and Gary (Julie) Tennyson; 14 Great Grandchildren - Nicole and Nathaniel Fredrick, William Lavell, Daniel, Matthew and Jacob Schommer, Dyllan and Garrett Lauth, Breanna and Worren Schehr, Allison and Morgan Lauth, Lexie and Callie Tennyson; 3 Brothers - Hilbert (Arlene) Klawitter of Burnett, Marvin Klawitter of Beaver Dam and Leonard Klawitter of Beaver Dam; Sister - Irene (Burnard) Gentz of Jefferson and Sister in law - Jeannette Klawitter of Beaver Dam and other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son - Robert, Parents, Twin Brother, Son in law - Victor Schommer, two half brothers - Mertin and Roger Klawitter, and half sister - Ruth Drews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 1:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Portage with Rev. Dan Kelm officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Portage. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 11 AM until 1 PM. Service Details.
