Ethel Berniece Carter, age 78 years, of Portage died on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, Wisconsin. She was born on July 21, 1931 in Daniel, Wyoming to Bernie and Ethel (Duckworth) Payne. Ethel was united in marriage to Bobby Carter on July 5, 1981 in Lemont, IL. She was a homemaker and enjoyed nature, crafts, and her grandchildren. Survivors include Husband - Bobby of Portage, 4 Children - Gary (Barbara) Lance of Rock Springs, WY, Colleen (James) Porter of Rosewood, TX, Collette (Joe) Finney of Grice, TX and Kelly (Louis) Riley of Joliet, IL; 16 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 2 Sisters - Barbara D AMori of Gillette, WY and Mildred (James) Franklin of Hamilton, New York. She was preceded in death by a Son - Henry, Brother - Jack Henry Payne and Sister - Shirley Payne. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12 at 1:30 PM at the Picha Funeral Home, Oxford with Rev. Karl Hess officiating. Burial will follow at the Briggsville Protestant Cemetery, Briggsville.
