Obituary

Dwight Fredrick Johnson Sr, age 91 years of Pardeeville died on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison. He was born on June 30, 1922 in Palmer, IL to Fred and Roxie (Heberlein) Johnson. Dwight was united in marriage on June 15, 1947 in Kincaid, IL to Lillian Lucas; she preceded him in death on September 24, 2009.   Dwight worked for the Peabody Coal Company from 1948 to 1962 and then farmed until his retirement in 1984. He was very active in his church, served as an elder, received a distinguished service award from the church, proud of his family, enjoyed farming, was an avid Packer and Brewer fan and loved country music. Dwight also served in the US Army during World War II.   Survivors include 7 children, Gary (Ann) Johnson of Middleton, Sharon (Jack) Krueger of Pardeeville, Connie (Ken) D'Alessandro of Milwaukee, LeAnn (Mike) Konicek of Madison, Sandra (Bob) Bowers of Pardeeville and Fred (Karen) Johnson of Janesville, 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, special friend, Tom Blish of West Bend and other relatives and friends. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Janine, 1 brother and 2 sisters.   Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Nazarene, 1800 Crawford St, Baraboo with Rev. Jonathan Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in the Silver Lake Cemetery, Portage with military rites by the Portage area veterans. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 am until 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Church of the Nazarene. Service Details. Visitation
