Dorothea Emelia Meyer von Trott Dottie was born on December 19, 1918 to Hertha Elsa Ruth and Walter Carl Franz Meyer in Fond du Lac Wisconsin. She spent her younger years living with her younger brothers, Theodore (Marlene) and Norman (Carol) Meyer in Fond du Lac and Mayville before moving to Cedarburg, where she graduated from high school. She completed her education in La Crosse, majoring in math, science, and physical education. Dot started her teaching career at a small boarding school before leaving to teach at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf in Delavan. During WWII she taught radio mechanics at Truax Field in Madison, where she met and married Lewis G. von Trott in 1947. She continued teaching for a total of 40-plus years in Cedarburg, Dubuque, Iowa, Detroit, Michigan, and Salem, WI before retiring in Cedarburg. She moved to Portage WI in 2012. Dottie enjoyed archery, bowling, opera, gardening traveling, free cell, reading, and watching her great grandchildren in sporting events. She died on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Tivoli in Portage WI. She is survived by her daughter Barbara L. Rothwell (Richard L. Olson); grandson Christopher J. Larsh (Kate); great grandchildren, Collin J. Larsh, Chloe A. Larsh, and Cuinn R. Larsh; her nephews: Ted (Carol) Meyer, Tom (Maureen) Meyer, Robert (Shirley Meyer), Tim (Phyllis), Tim (Susan) Brockman, Walter Brockman; nieces Mary Meyer and Kim (Peter) Shrake, along with many friends and extended family members. She was proceeded in death by both of her brothers and sister-in-laws, granddaughter Jennifer R. Larsh, and son-in-law H. Hampton Rothwell, nephew Donald Brockman.
