Donna Jean Stewart, age 83 of Portage, WI died on June 5, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison WI. Donna was born on October 5, 1940, to Herbert and Marjorie (Mylrea) Kassner. Donna was a 1959 graduate from Portage High School, attended MATC in the nursing program where she worked for several years at the Hospital and nursing home in Portage. Donna Married George on September 10, 1960. Her and George ran Stewart's liquor store in Portage, WI. She also worked planting flowers at Saddle Ridge Golf Course and helped her son with G Karl Enterprise in Portage. Donna is survived by her son G Karl (Bonnie) Stewart and granddaughter Kallee, sister Kathy (Stan) Vinge, brother-in-law Jerry Wielgus, aunts Alberta Schultz and Margie Mylrea-Wentz, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, husband George, and sister Karen Wielgus. The memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday July 13, 2024, at the Kratz Funeral Home in Portage, WI. A public visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at 1pm. A burial will follow the service at Shanks Cemetery in rural Portage.
