Don Martin Peterson, 80 years of Portage died on December 18, 2012 at St. Clare Meadows in Baraboo. He was born on March 2, 1932 in Beloit to Royal and Ruth (Hill) Peterson. Don was united in marriage to Audrey Brice in Lime Ridge on September 21, 1968. He had lived in Hillpoint before moving to Portage in 1977, he was a chemist and had worked at Badger Ordinance and then at Spartech and Portage Industries. Don enjoyed chemistry, amateur radio, computers, reading, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Audrey of Portage, daughter Tamara (Kevin) Foster of Portage, 2 grandchildren Allison and Jarrett, 1 sister Joan Bacholer of Beloit and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and other friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Thomas, 2 sisters Janet Claflin and Mary Lou Peterson, 2 half brothers Earl Wheeler and Wayne Wheeler and 3 half sisters Ethel, Ellen and Katherine. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Portage Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Hankins officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Lime Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until 11 AM.
