Darlene J. Garrigan age 86 of Portage, WI died on Saturday September 13, 2025 at the Columbia Health Care facility in Wyocena, WI
Darlene was born on November 18, 1938 to Harry and Johanna (Thomson) Krejcarek. She married Gerald F. Garrigan on September 26, 1959 in Colman, WI.
Darlene was active in many clubs and organizations in the Portage community, she was proud to be a member of the Portage Curling Club for many years. She was employed at St. Mary's School and the Portage Community School District for many years.
She was most proud of her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Darlene is survived by her children, Colleen (Daniel) Kutchin, Winneconne, Kathleen (David) Roadt, West Allis, Maureen "Mitzi" (Greg) Gerstenkorn, Portage, Donald (Kelly) Garrigan, Portage and Daniel (Jennifer) Garrigan, Portage. Her grandchildren, Jacqueline (Kenny) Savee, Jeannie (Kyle) Jelinek, Jason (Leah) Gerstenkorn, Erica (Joe) Laffin, Kyra (Chad ) Churchill, Dustan (Hayleigh) Garrigan, Kaisey (Andrew) Ackerman, Keagan (Andrew) Buege, Grant, Gabrielle, Genna, and Griffin Garrigan; Thirteen great grandchildren, Kailyn and Jordyn Jelinek, Madison Savee, Thea, Valencia Laffin and Warren and Wells Churchill, Gwendolyn, Donovan Ackerman, Brinleigh, Callan Buege, Vivian, Linlee Garrigan. Also survived by twin brothers; Darrol, Dennis (Margaret) Krejcarek and many nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Darlene is preceded in death by her husband Gerald, her parents, sister Carol (Francis) Murphy, and sister-in-law Joan Krejcarek.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Moments Hospice Foundation 820 Lilac Dr. North, Suite #210 Golden Valley, MN 55422, or an organization of donor's choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at Columbia Health Care Center for the excellent care given to Darlene. Special thanks to Moments Hospice, especially Kelly Simpson, RN.
