Daniel Kenneth Dittberner SR, age 60 years of Portage passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his home comfortably with his family by his side. He was born in Portage on August 21, 1952 to Donald and Doris (Blackley) Dittberner.   Dan lived in Portage all his life and was married to Vicki Berger for 43 years. He worked as a correctional officer for the State of Wisconsin for 31 years and retired in June 2011. Dan enjoyed hunting, Nascar, his many pets throughout his life and especially his family.   Survivors include his wife Vicki of Portage, 2 sons Daniel JR (Kate) Dittberner of Oak Creek and Keegan (Jenny) Dittberner of Sheboygan, ex-daughter in law Billie Jo Dittberner of Portage, 3 grandson Nathaniel, Joshua and Owen, mother Doris Dittberner of Portage, 4 brothers David (Kelly) Dittberner of Lodi, Donald (Dana) Dittberner of Montello, Douglas (Janice) of Colorado and William (Angel) Blackley of Texas, 3 sisters Kristine Opaleski of Oxford, Karla (Ron) Gay of Evansville, and Karen (Wayne) Peterson of Westfield and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his father and mother in law Chet & Betty Berger, Aunt Linda Dittberner, Nephew David Dittberner, sister in law Sally Lohr and brother in law Steve Opaleski.    A special thanks to family, friends and Heartland Hospice for caring for and supporting Dan during his brief illness.
