Portage, Wisconsin Daniel H. Davis, 90, formerly of Portage passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Our House Senior Living in Baraboo, WI. There will be no public service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date this summer. Dan was born on June 30, 1930 to Otto and Valerie Davis in Purdy, WI He married Shirley Nelson from Readstown WI, on October 23, 1954. They were blessed with 64 years together before Shirley passed away in April of 2018. Dan and Shirley enjoyed traveling and over the years they went on many trips together. They especially enjoyed traveling to Hawaii for their 50th wedding anniversary and a trip to Alaska. They spent over 20 years enjoying the warm winters in Mission, TX. Wherever they went they made many friends. Dan served in the army for 3 years from 1951 to 1953 and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. On returning he worked at Oscar Mayer for 32 years, retiring in 1988. After retiring he worked part time for a few years at the car auction house in Portage. Dan loved horses and in 1970 moved the family to a hobby farm in Portage were the boys had their own horses and were involved in 4-H. He also loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the VFW and United Methodist Church in Pardeeville, WI. Dan is survived by three sons, Alan (Janet) of Dubuque, IA, Victor of Wisconsin Dells, WI, and Scott (friend Terri) of Portage, WI. 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Dan is preceded in death by his wife Shirley, his parents, and his brother Odean. The family would like to thank the staff at Our House Senior Living in Portage and Baraboo and the staff with Agrace Hospice for their care and support. Service Details.
