Courtney Beth
Genova
January 25, 2005 – May 20, 2025
Courtney Beth Genova, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend, passed away on May 20, 2025, at the age of 20. Born on January 25, 2005, in Portage, Wisconsin, Courtney brought joy, laughter, and light into the lives of all who knew her.
Courtney was a bright, adventurous spirit with a heart full of kindness and compassion. She had a fierce love for life—traveling to new places, baking, playing her guitar, and always seeking out the next moment to laugh or create a memory. Her love of music and cooking was matched only by her dedication to helping others. As she pursued a career in healthcare, she touched many lives with her empathy, intelligence, and unwavering desire to make the world a better place. Courtney's sense of humor, creativity, and contagious laugh were unforgettable. She had a way of lighting up every room she walked into, and she never hesitated to be the big sister, the friend, the listener, or the one who reminded you to smile.
She is deeply loved and will be forever missed by her mom, Missy Abreu; dad, Cory Ebert; and her cherished sister, Ava Ebert. She is also survived by her grandmothers, Vicki Rognrud and Toni Ebert; grandfather, Paul Ebert; uncles Robert Rognrud, Anthony Rognrud, Telo Ebert (Kim), and Matty Briant (Nicole); aunts April Dahlke, Gina Briant, Nicci Muhlenbeck; as well as many beloved cousins and friends whose lives she enriched with her vibrant soul.
Courtney is proceeded in death by her Grandpa Roger, Great-Grandma Candy, and beloved cat Teddy.
Courtney's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her—through every act of kindness, every shared laugh, every song strummed on a guitar.
A private celebration of Courtney's life will be held at Kratz Funeral Home in Portage, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Courtney's honor to a charity that supports young women in healthcare or mental health advocacy.
