Connie May Tabor, age 64 years of Rio and formerly of Portage died on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Meriter Hospital in Madison.  She was born on September 1, 1949 in Madison to Ferdinand and Florence (Edge) Midthun.   Connie grew up and lived in the Madison area for many years before moving to Portage and then to Rio about 12 years ago.  She was married to Obie Tabor who preceded her in death in 1995.  Connie had been a dorm supervisor for the University of Wisconsin Housing.  She also enjoyed furniture restoration, woodworking, going to auctions, packer games and traveling with her daughter to warm and sunny places.   Survivors include her daughter, Nona Hartman of Portage, 5 sisters, Karen Davies of Madison, Marlene Skuldt of Verona, Susan (Jim) Kinnamon of Portage, Vivian (Steve) Baumgardner of Milwaukee and Lesa (Don) Van Vossen of Westfield, 3 dogs "her babies", Charlie, Chester and Jessie, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Besides her Husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arnold Midthun.   A celebration of Connie's life will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 1:30 pm.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until 1:30 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Columbia County Humane Society, N7768 Industrial Rd.
