Clifford George Vohs, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Clifford was born on June 26, 1944 in Blue Island, IL to Elmer and Agatha (Lusson) Vohs. The family moved to Portage when Cliff was a young child and the majority of his life was spent in the Portage area. Clifford attended St. Mary's School in Portage and graduated from Portage High School. In the early years Clifford worked with his parents on the Vohs family strawberry farm in Caledonia. He worked for many years on the Milwaukee Road Railroad, but the majority of his work career was in the plastics industry in the Portage area - working for ABG, Penda, TriEnda and Spartech throughout his career. He retired from Spartech in 2006. After retirement he enjoyed spending his time fishing, turkey and deer hunting & camping with family and friends. Cliff & Karen became members of the Good Sam Yahara Black Hawk Chapter - where Cliff was proud to be the current President. He also enjoyed time on the waterways with his pontoon boat. Clifford will always be remembered for his easy nature and readiness to have a good time. Survivors include his wife, Karen of Portage; siblings Joyce Zamzow, Portage; Kay Koch, Sun Prairie; Mary (Brian) Murray, Madison; David (Sue) Vohs, Bruce; and Peter (Sandy) Vohs, Portage and also several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and other relatives. Clifford in also survived by his in-laws David Drabek, IL; Barbara Hill, Portage; Dale (Jean) Drabek, Beaver Dam; Lynn (Jerry) Foley, Eden Prairie, MN; Loretta (Kenneth) Frank, Fairfax, MN; Tanya (Matthew) Breneman, Norwood, MN; Renee Drabek, Beaver Dam; Abby Drabek, Portage and Susan Drabek of Portage. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, his grandparents, several aunts, uncles and other relatives and his first wife Caroline Buskager Kautz. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Portage with Father James Murphy officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage on Wednesday from 4 - 7 pm and at the church on Thursday from 9 am until 10 am. Service Details. Visitation
