Obituary

Claude W. Anderson age 91 of Portage, Wisconsin. Died on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Hamilton Park Place in Portage. Claude was born on January 29, 1928 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin to Carl and Mary (Dopp) Anderson. Claude enlisted in the United States Navy, was called up for the Cuban Missile Crisis, was in the Army National Guard for 33 years. Claude was married to Wanda Freeman on June 24, 1950 in Portage, WI. Claude was employed for many years with Vogel Construction working on the Interstate system and he also helped with the building of St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Claude could often be found and auctions and local garage sales, buying broken snow blowers and lawn mowers and fixing them to be resold. He was always willing to help his neighbors with any small engine repairs. Claude is survived by his children Linda (Jeff Powell) Barker of Pardeeville, Kathy Doering of Portage, Claudia Anderson of Madison and Robert (Karen) Anderson of Denver, CO, eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Kratz Funeral Home in Portage. (www.kratzfuneralhome.com) Rev. Dave Hankins officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Portage. Service Details. Visitation Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Kratz Funeral Home in Portage.
