Obituary

Clarence D. Croissant, age 86 years, of Oxford, died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the HospiceCare in Madison. He was born on May 15, 1924 in Danberry, WI to Lloyd and Bessie (Atkinson) Croissant. Clarence served in the United States Army from 1948 - 1954 in Occupied Germany and later serving in Korea. On January 15, 1954, he was united in marriage to Wilma Bast at Fort Hood, Texas. Clarence was a maintenance supervisor at the VA Hospital in Madison for over 31 years. He was a member of Oxford Post # 6003, loved animals but never hunted and was proudest of his "world's largest bird feeder" 4 car garage. Survivors include his Wife - Wilma of Oxford; 4 Children - Clarence "Preston" Croissant (Bea Barreau) of St. Rose, LA, Mike Croissant of Madison, Paul (Lisa) Croissant of DeForest and Matt Croissant of Madison; 12 Grandchildren; 28 Great Grandchildren and a Brother - Elroy (Marcella) Croissant of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Daughters - Naomi and Nicki, Daughter in law - Beverly, Grandson - Duane and an infant sister - Marie. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 3 PM at the Oxford Funeral Home, Oxford with Rev. Steve Keller officiating. Military rites will follow after the service.
