Brenda WelshMcLean Surrounded by family, Brenda WelshMcLean passed away peacefully at her home in the Town of Lewiston, Wisconsin, on October 22nd, 2024.

Brenda was born in Racine County on February 22, 1959 to Elaine (Thoreson) and Roger Welsh. She graduated from Union Grove High School in 1977, where she was on the track team and a member of the yearbook and newspaper staff. Brenda was also active in Yorkville 4-H.

Brenda graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a degree in social work. She worked for Columbia County Health and Human Services for almost 40 years.

On November 16, 1991, Brenda married Merle McLean in Briggsville. They have one son, Scott.

Brenda was known for her keen wit, dry sense of humor, expert baking skills, and generosity. She loved spending time with her family, good friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed traveling, thrifting, playing—and winning—games (especially stealing the deal at Euchre). Brenda was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Brenda's greatest loves were her husband, Merle; son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Zoey, and grandchildren, Lincoln and Nellie.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Merle McLean; son Scott (Zoey) McLean; grandchildren Lincoln and Nellie McLean; mother, Elaine (Thoreson) Welsh; siblings Jean (Dale) Greeno; Arlene (Tom) Held; Diane (Gary) Radloff; Wendy (Bob) Eilers; John (Janice) Welsh; and Marie (Chris) Mutter; in-laws John (JoAnn) McLean, Ronnie (Janet) McLean, Jerry McAdow, and Joanne (Tim) Drahnak; as well as many aunts uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Roger Welsh; an infant brother; sisters-in-law Carol (McLean) McAdow and Judy (McLean) Winn; and mother and father-in-law Helen (Gierman) and Arthur McLean.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 9th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the American Legion Hall in Briggsville, Wisconsin.
