Betty Rita Weiske, age 86 years, of Portage, died on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Divine Savior Extended Care in Portage. She was born on July 29, 1924 in Hamilton, Ohio to George and Anne (Albright) Glenn. Betty graduated from DeSales Heights Academy in Parkersburg, WV in 1942 before moving to Baraboo where she then worked at Badger Ordinance in the lab during World War II. She was united in marriage to Russell James Weiske on October 6, 1945 in Baraboo, he preceded her in death on October 6, 2008. They moved to Milwaukee in 1961 where she worked at Chapman's Department Store, in 1975 they moved to Portage where she had worked at Pat's Clothes Rack and Barbara's Shoes. Betty was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include Four Children - J J Weiske of Portage, Anne (Jeff) Smith of Baraboo, Mary Bahr of Baraboo and Glenn Weiske of Grafton; 2 Grandchildren - Angela and Dan Bahr; 2 Great Grandchildren - Julian and Laken Smith; and nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a Brother - John Glenn and a Sister - Helen Brzezinski. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Portage with Father James Murphy officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
