Obituary

Betty Ann Levzow age 91 of Portage, WI died on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at her home in Portage. Betty was born on September 8, 1932, in Rochester, MN to Grace and Louis Ulferts. She was the oldest child of four, her family moved from Mankato, MN to Portage, WI in May 1948. Betty enjoyed traveling, playing euchre, walking, volunteering at the nursing home, bowling, class reunions, people, yard work, music, time with her grandchildren and delivering meals on wheels. Betty was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Portage Senior Citizens, she graduated for the Portage High School the class of 1951 and Madison Business College. Betty was employed at the Radio Station WPDR, Olin Corporation (Badger Ordinance), and the Columbia County Highway Dept for 18 years. Betty retired on October 1, 1994. Betty married Don Levzow July 14, 1979, and were married for 37 years. Betty is survived by her son Steven Sloggy, stepson Douglas Levzow, stepdaughter Donna Brown, sister Hazel (Ray) Rogers, former daughter-in-law Julie Hannick, five step grandchildren Melinda, Jessica, Aerial. Aaron and Nathaniel, nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents Grace and Louis Ulferts, husband Don, sister Mary Lou Bradley, brother Gordon Ulferts, sisters-in-law Rita Hamele Ulferts, Fern (Lewis) Kendall, Myrle (Don) Barry, Gladys Levzow, Iva (Don) Hall, Leta (Lee) Sanborn, Elsie Radant, brothers-in-law Harvey Levzow, Maurice (Marcella) Levzow, Oliver (Florence) Levzow, Chat Bradley. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Kratz Funeral Home – Portage (www.kratzfuneralhome.com) a public visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Jaime Benson will be officiating. A burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
