Betty Jane Kottka, age 86 of Deforest, WI died on April 25, 2025, at her home.

Betty was born on March 27, 1939, in Portage, WI to Richard and Frieda (Kent) Scherbert. Betty Married Edward "Butch" Kottka on January 10, 1959, in Portage, WI

Betty was an avid collector of Bears, Owls and Beanie Babies. She enjoyed trips north to St Germain, enjoying fishing once she learned how to use a casting rod rather than a cane pole.

Betty was employed for 27 years at the Deforest School District as a cook, retiring in 2000.

Betty is survived by her son Gary and one sister Della Dumke, a sister-in-law Donna Larson. A brother-in-law and sister-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends. Betty is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Edward and 9 of her brothers and sisters.

No services will be held at this time.

A celebration of life with close family and friends will be held at a later date.
