Betty "Betsy" Chalfant, age 55 years, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at her residence at Heritage House in Portage. She was born on June 14, 1956 in Madison to Robert and Margaret (Butler) Albright. Betsy grew up in Madison and moved to Texas when she married. She returned to Wisconsin in 1995. Survivors include Two Sons - Steven and Joseph Chalfant of Texas; 4 Brothers - Art (Marcia) Albright, Bob (Cindy) Bakken, Tom (Cindy) Albright and Glenn (Shelly) Albright and Two Sisters - Ruth Guderski and Mary (David) Dieck all of Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister - Jean Borden. Memorial services will be private. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents at Heritage House for the wonderful care and concern shown for our sister. We also thank Leroy Tlusty for his special friendship with Betsy. We also would like to express our appreciation to first responders in Portage and Columbia County for their services with Betsy throughout the past several years.
