Bernice "Bonnie" Helen Kelley, age 87 years, of Portage, died on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena. She was born on July 31, 1922 in New London, WI to Harry and Clara (Theede) Strohecker. Bernice was united in marriage on October 18, 1952 to LaVerne (Sam) Kelley in Oshkosh; he preceded her in death on December 18, 1986. She has lived in New London, Metz, WI, Oshkosh and Portage since 1957. Bonnie was a homemaker, member of the Portage United Methodist Church, Elkettes, VFW Auxiliary and the Women's Bowling League. Survivors include 5 Sons - Terry Bartel of Portage, Dennis (Sheila) Kelley of Wausau, Michael (Dawn) Kelley of Wautoma, Brian (Kathy) Kelley of Portage, and Gary (Pamela) Kelley of Portage, 2 Daughters - Sandra (John) Christopherson of Portage and Linda (Terry) Thurler of Portage, 14 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild, 1 Sister - Carol (William) Haase of Oshkosh, WI, 1 Brother - Donald (Beatrice) Strohecker of Neenah and many other relatives. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and 3 grandchildren, John Wayne Christopherson, Jillian Mae Kelley and Troy Bartel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Portage United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Countryman officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Portage. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage on Friday from 4 - 7 PM and at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until 11 AM.
