Obituary

Arleen Ruth Buelow, age 89 years, went to her eternal home on February 17, 2012 at the Hospice House in Baraboo. She was born on January 5, 1923 in Van Dyne, WI to Harry and Margaret (Bahr) Tank. Arleen was united in marriage to Victor Buelow on July 22, 1939 in Fond du Lac, he preceded her in death on March 25, 1993. In 1951 Arleen and her family moved to Merrimac. She was well known in the community for having owned and operated a grocery store and gas station named Vic's Service. After retirement she and Vic traveled to Apache Junction, AZ for the winter months. Arleen was very active in her church and belonged to several clubs. She enjoyed being with friends to numerous to mention. Survivors include a daughter - Janet (Gene) Karpinski of Merrimac; a son - Robert (Sharon) Buelow of Bowdoinham, Maine; 5 grandchildren - Duane (Angie) Fullers, Thomas (Christal) Fullers, Daniel (Tracy) Fullers, Noah (Lori) Messner and Dawn (Mike) Etmund; 8 great grandchildren - Jordan, Maggie, Kayla, Sabrina, Megan, Theo, Morgan and Benjamin; sister in law - Merle (Allan) Tank Kleinhans of Fond du Lac and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons - Donald and Victor Jr, her parents, brother - Howard Tank and sister - Delores Rosenow and many brother and sister in laws. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Merrimac with Rev. Joel Bradtke officiating. Burial was held at the Estabrooks Cemetery, Fond du Lac. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the St. Claire Hospice House. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Shultz, Deb, Kathy and all the Hospice staff for giving Arleen such loving care. "Mom" I will miss you, until we meet again." Service Details.
