Ardis Elvina Sexe passed away on May 20, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born to Adeline (Sedahl) and Edwin Nelson on June 17,1933. She married the love of her life Aldred Sexe on January 12, 1957, in Pigeon Falls, WI. She graduated from the Luther nursing school in Eau Claire. She furthered her education by attending UW -Madison with a BSN in nursing. She became Director/Health Officer for Trempealeau County. Ardis was an accomplished multi-talented artist and seamstress. She traveled around the country taking painting classes to continue enhancing her skills. She was a talented seamstress making many of her clothes, bridesmaid dresses and her daughter's wedding dresses, baptismal gowns for grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid reader. She would always be seen toting a book, knitting needles or crotchet hooks making use of her time anywhere. She shared her talent of quilting, gifting most of her quilts to family and friends, high school seniors, and to Sleep in Heavenly Peace project. Aldred and Ardis had three children: Keith (Jackie McDougall) Sexe, Karen (Tim) Jacobson, and Kari (Bill) Scott. They had eight grandchildren: Rachel (Lucas) Solberg, Melissa (Jacob) Heimdahl, Emily (Chris) Westpfahl, Isaac Sexe, Derek Jacobson, Kjirsten (Nick) Beltz, Renee (Andrew) Clark, and Ross (Destiny) Vorbeck. Their fourteen great granddaughters: Brielle, Aspen, Emma, Madelyn, and Lily Solberg; Camryn, Haidyn and Emersyn Heimdahl; Adelynn, Norah, and Ella Clark; Baylor and Bennett Beltz, Maya Vorbeck. She is survived by sister Jane Brown and brother Edward (Pam) Nelson, brother-in-law Maynard Saxe, Ron Nybroten, sisters-in-law Charlene Saxe, Kathy (Juel) Smith and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Aldred, two sisters: Florence Saxe, Marguerite Fremstad; brother: Howard Nelson, and son-in-law Vernon Vorbeck. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the North Beaver Creek Faith Lutheran Church in Rural Ettrick, WI. Pastor Libby Howe will be officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service at church from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
