Anna Lou Bell, age 83 died on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Columbia County Health Care Center in Wyocena. She was born on January 17, 1930 in Baraboo to John and Ellen (Dwyer) Fitzsimmons. Ann grew up in the Merrimac area and graduated from Baraboo High School. On April 10, 1948 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Bell at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo; he preceded her in death on May 19, 1999. Ann was a homemaker and was a nurse's assistant at Divine Savior Hospital. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Royal Neighbors. Ann especially enjoyed the love of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include 4 children, Terry Bell of Portage, Rick (Debbie) Bell of Portage, Jody (Steve) Janisch of Pardeeville and John Bell of Portage, 5 grandchildren, Stephanie (Cal) Larson, Jennifer (Jason) Brown, Angela Bell, Brooke (Pat) Cadigan and Kenneth (Vicki) Janisch, 10 great grandchildren, sister, Rose Simonds of Poynette, 2 brothers in law, Charles (Virginia) Simonds of Lincoln, NE and Ken Boyd, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, brother Robert, an infant brother and 2 sisters, Margaret and Mary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 12 Noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Portage with Father Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Baraboo. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until Noon.
