Ann Frances Neis age 96 of Portage, WI died on Thursday June 14, 2018 at the Columbia County Health Care Center in Wyocena, WI. where she has resided for the last 4 years. Ann was born on May 28, 1922 in Detroit, MI to Joseph and Mary (Tomjenovich) Vuyasich. She lost her biological father at an early age and spoke highly of her stepfather, George Jurich. On October 23, 1943 she married Theodore Neis at Barksdale Field in Louisiana. Ann was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Portage. She was employed at Wyenberg Shoe Factory and Glendale School in Madison. She and her husband owned and operated Norris Wash and Clean in Portage. Ann was an avid bowler and Packer fan. She was an excellent cook and baker. She loved jewelry and clothes and was always fashionably dressed. She also enjoyed many hours of fishing at her lake home. She loved to travel. Her favorite trips included an extended train trip with her husband Ted. She and Ted spent many winters in Florida after their retirement. She loved Disney and took her family on many wonderful vacations to Disney World. She is survived by her daughters; Dorothy (John) Baldwin; Kim (Bruce) Hutzler both of Portage. Five Grandchildren, Jennifer (Erik) Kvalseth, Matthew Neis, Kathryn (Timothy) Rietmann, Lindsey Baldwin, Andrea (Jacob) AlNaser. She is further survived by great grandchildren, Mackenzie Rietmann and Alexander Rietmann and Gee Kualseth as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Theodore and a son Robert, sister Catherine Hadvina and brother John Vuyasich The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Columbia County Health Care and Agrace Hospice for their exceptional and loving care. A special thank you to Debbie, Cindy, Cathy, Michelle, Irene, Tracy and the rest of her extended "Evergreen Family". Ann truly loved her puppy pals, Charley, Sandy, Duke, Tugger and Cocoa who provided many hours of enjoyment. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kratz Funeral Home in Portage (www.kratzfuneralhome.com). Followed by a celebration of life luncheon.
